I was at this and I was 12 years old. Still got the programme and pics of the SR71 that I took on my Zenith Russian SLR camera. Obviously all the aircraft were amazing, but the thing I remember most was that I could get a BBQ Burger and a can of Bud! The American guys cooking away in the half barrel bbq's. I was 12! I think I had three. God damn, the 80's was awesome.

The F4 was by far the best air show platform. The look of it, the noise it made, it just reeked of power and performance. No fighter since measures up no matter who’s flying. However, I recently saw an F35 rehearsing for an air show. It comes close!

I love the British commentators better than the American ones. Ours in America sound like cheesy gameshow hosts. Love the Rolls Royce engines that don't smoke like a locomotive like our J-79's did. Mean bird.

The Jaguar is awesome. I'm so glad I worked for TWR in those days. Wonderful memories. And yes the Sauber Mercedes was great, but I worked for Tom, so Go Jaguar 🙂 I recently sold my XF Jag to buy a dog. Yes I traded my 3 litre twin turbo XF for a Dalmatian 🙂 I miss the car, but I LOVE the crazy puppy dog 🙂

F1 cars really got gnarly in this era

03:30 made me recall the line just north of Blandford on the Somerset and Dorset.

That is a light Pacific but the Britannia really shook me. The engineers must have done serious work to upgrade all the bridges.

The Australian grand prix needs to go back to Adelaide.
